Maynard’s Original Napa Valley Wine Guide
To 109 of the Best Small Wineries
Napa’s Small Wineries
Now you can have your own personal guide to the otherwise difficult, if not impossible to discover, where the best 140 small wineries exist here in the Napa Valley! At most of them you will be greeted by the owner or winemaker who will also host your tasting.
I have lived in the Napa Valley for 39 years. During that time, I have visited over 350 wineries and have developed what I believe is the most comprehensive guide to help you design your own small winery tasting itinerary that offers tasting appointments.
Included are the winery name, address, telephone number, website, primary varietals, and when appropriate some notes/comments I considered worthy. This list is focused on those wineries that typically produce less than 2,500 cases per year and with tasting appointments at the winery, not at an off premises tasting room.
This is NOT a tasting guide. Wine tasting is a particular personal experience, and I leave it to you to be your own judge. You can jump on their website and get an idea if this is a winery of interest to you. For a more definitive examination of a particular winery, I highly recommend Dave Thompson’s website www.napawineproject.com as he has visited most of the wineries on my list and provides an in-depth review of them. NOTE: June to October is high season so you need to be scheduling your appointments well in advance -typically 8-12 weeks.
You can design your own tasting tour thus capturing your own personal desires and not depending on others who may not share your distinct likes.
Here is to a great tasting experience!
